There's no Indian law that makes it illegal to share access to a Netflix or Prime Video account. It's not theft, it's not a Cyber Crime Act violation, and no one has been prosecuted in India for splitting a streaming subscription with someone outside their household. This is a civil, contractual matter between a subscriber and the platform - not a criminal one.
What the platforms' terms actually say
That's a different story. Netflix, Prime Video, and most OTT platforms word their terms to restrict an account to a single "household." Sharing outside that in the strictest reading is a breach of their terms of service - which is why platforms have rolled out household verification and OTP checks in recent years. The consequence for a breach is typically account-level (a household error prompt, or in a repeated/severe case, suspension of that specific account) - not a legal penalty against the person sharing it.
